The central government launched the ‘Arogya Setu’ app to overcome the corona virus. The government said that this contact tracing app will help prevent infection. Now the Center has made this app necessary for all its employees. The government has said in the order that it is mandatory for all employees to download the ‘Arogya Setu’ app on mobile phones.

All the people working in central government offices will have to review their status in the app before going to office. Employees can come to work only when the status is ‘safe’ or ‘low risk’.

On the use of ‘Arogya Setu’ app, this order states, “Employees whose status is ‘High Risk’ or ‘Moderate’ should isolate themselves for 14 days, unless the status is ‘Safe’ go.” This order has been sent to all departments, ministries, central secretariat and the Prime Minister’s Office. Apart from this, it has been said that similar instructions regarding the use of the app can be sent to all autonomous, constitutional institutions and PSUs.

How the ‘Arogya Setu’ app works?
The central government launched Covid19 tracking app ‘Arogya Setu’ on 2 April. The app was prepared by the Ministry of Electronics and Information under a public-private partnership. This app will detect from the user’s location data and Bluetooth whether he was close to any corona virus positive person or not. If the user has come in contact with a patient, then the app will share the user’s data with the government.

In the ‘Arogya Setu’ app, information about the corona virus helpline number is available for every state. Along with this, there is also a chatbox in the app, through which users can ask questions and find out about the symptoms of the virus.
